Travel to Sydney

Sydney is the urban heart of Cape Breton Island and the ocean gateway to the island's many attractions. Symposium delegates will be staying at hotels located on Sydney's beautiful waterfront where they are steps away from shops, restaurants and the main conference venue.

Sydney is the perfect starting point to explore the island. Excursions could include driving around the world famous Cabot Trail, taking a stroll through the year 1744 at the Fortress of Louisbourg, going underground into a real coal mine at the Miners Museum or taking in a traditional ceilidh at a local pub.

Sydney is also home to the FIDHEAL MHOR A’ CEILIDH, also known as the World’s Largest Fiddle. Get your picture taken next to this giant icon at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavillion.
